LACKING ENERGY? FEAR IS THE CULPRIT!

September is Self-Improvement Month, so it’s a great time to zero in on the inner workings of your body. Connecting to your energy, and thinking about all of the things that you let affect your body - fear being the biggest culprit. How is a lack of energy related to fear?

Fear tends to drive a lot of decisions we make. Take a moment. Think of what you worry about - this can, and will, zap a lot of your energy! All of these situations add a little more stress to the day. Then, it compounds and adds stress to our years. We’re not typically taught from an early age how to recognize and release all that worry and negative energy that has stored up in our bodies for years.

Out of worry and fear, we try to control. And, out of the attempt to control, we worry and fear. When we try to control every situation, we forget to realize that:

1) It’s a ton of pressure on our bodies, creating anxiety and putting us in a constant state of stress (physically, this can look like hormone imbalance, neurological issues, infertility, digestive disorders, headaches, adrenal fatigue, addictions, Alzheimer’s, faster aging, etc).

2) We’re not in control of everything and everyone – we’re only responsible for ourselves. God is in control, not us. Relinquishing control is freeing and healing!

The more we try to tell everyone else what they should or shouldn’t be doing, the more difficult it is to focus on what’s really going on within ourselves – not just on a surface level. Digging deep into what brought you to this point of needing to hold this tight grip. Did you ever hear that the mirror is a great place to start?

All of this fear and control that we keep piling up in our lives directly affects our physical health a great deal. And, frankly, tires out our bodily systems. While food is an important tool to help us on our journey to increase energy, it’s not the only thing we need to get connected to. It's our fears.

Our cells store everything we say, do, and feel. The more we tire our bodies with worrying, the more tired our bodies will be. See the connection? The less we worry, the less taxed our bodily systems are, and they can focus their energy on keeping us strong, vibrant, and sharp. Living in fear isn't helping our health - fear only worsens our body's ability to remain strong.

If we're constantly keeping our adrenaline up because we're living in a state of fear, this will burn out our adrenals and inundate our livers with excess adrenaline (a hormone). Over time, this hurts our livers, and overall health. When your liver isn’t functioning optimally, that’s when you may notice more digestive issues, energy lows, and many other health issues. This can cause your energy level to severely decrease!

What you've been experiencing for many years catches up - the way you let fear lead your life, the type of food you put in your body, staying in a negative relationship, being in a job you aren’t passionate about ... you get the picture. I would encourage you to connect with your fears. See where they’re truly stemming from. Learn about them, and how they got there. If you feel comfortable enough to let go of them, for your energy’s sake, do it! :)

All our bodies want is the opportunity to shine for us! Now, we just need to allow it. Since it’s also National Honey Month, be sweet to yourself. If you’re feeling extra sweet, treat yourself to some delectable honey! It's medicine.

“Kind words are like honey—
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body”
Proverbs 16:24
